In November 2003, my wife and I spent several days on Easter Island, a tiny dot in mid Pacific, only 6.9 miles long and perhaps 2 plus miles wide. Could its history be a microcosm of what could happen to the larger world?

Often, these references are quite comical and have nothing to do with the island or the culture of Rapa Nui.
