The International Russian Music Piano Competition is gaining steam at Le Petit Trianon in downtown San Jose. About 140 up-and-coming pianists from a couple dozen countries and far-flung places, including Easter Island (there’s a first), have been competing for $12,000 in prizes, concert engagements, entrée to prestigious summer academies, and the like.
